When I told my husband I started a blog during quarantine, he was like that's so great babe but remember at some point you're going to have to go back to work, and you wont have all this free time. I honestly thought maybe I would win the lottery and then I wouldn't have to go back (I've never even purchased a lottery ticket) so my chances of winning were pretty low. Anyways, I was like it's fine, I like writing, I'll write at least once per week. I hate when he's right because I totally forgot about this blog until today. Life has been pretty mundane lately and I totally feel like I'm living in the twilight zone. I'm sure everyone does, right? Quarantine made me all types of ambitious so I decided to get my Primal Health Coaching certification with all that free time too. I started a new instagram (@kwitzanywellness) as I want to build a platform to coach women through making clean skin care product and diet swaps for healthier bodies and clear skin. Feel free to follow along on my journey. I try and post easy, tangible tips that anyone can add in to their daily routine! On that note, here are some products I'm loving right now.
Supergoop! CC creme- This is like a foundation, skincare, and sunscreen all in one. It gives you the perfect, dewy glow. Since I wear a mask at work all day, I try to steer clear of makeup, but this is super light and still gives me a put together look. Bonus: This product is acne safe! I'm all about supporting small, women owned business's so you can get this one at SkinMPLS.

Cycle Syncing- My last blog post was all about this and I'm obsessed. My husband has heard about this subject so many times. I'm sure he would put me in a loony bin if he was given the opportunity. Actually probably not because then there would be no one to cook for him. I highly recommend every woman read In the Flo and Woman Code by Alisa Vitti. These books are all about how to biohack your hormones as a woman. Chronic disease, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and estrogen dominance are common problems in today's society, especially for women. Alisa teaches you how to eat the proper foods and do the proper workouts for each cycle which helps fight acne, disease, and fatigue just to name a few positives. Basically she teaches you how to optimize your body as a female and live your very best life. Girls run the world. I love this because it's not restrictive and so easy to follow. I've been doing cycle syncing for the past two months and normally I break out right around my period and this time I had NO breakouts. 10/10 I recommend this to my friends.
Unite 7 Seconds Detangling Spray- Ya'll when you're struggling with acne and I say you need to check ALL your products for pore cloggers, I mean all of them. Conditioner included. This spray has totally replaced my conditioner. It has all clean ingredients, is completely acne safe, and smells divine.
Milk Thistle Supplements- What is it about summer that makes you want all the cocktails? The warmth? The sunshine? Unknown but I want all the cocktails this summer. I just want to soak it up in the event we experience a liquor shortage which seems very likely considering the state of the world. Milk thistle helps filter out excess toxins from your liver, toxins come from all kinds of things like products, alcohol, cleaning products, etc. Your liver is also responsible for filtering out excess estrogen which can contribute to acne. Birth control and coming off the pill can lead to estrogen dominance so adding in a milk thistle supplement can help assist in restoring normal estrogen levels.
Pholk Hemp Oil- Finding an acne safe face oil is tricky AF. So many oils have 900 ingredients that you can't pronounce and that will clog your pores. This oil has minimal ingredients AND it's black women owned which I love. I stick to only using oils at night. This one is also totally acne friendly. #WINNING

This is unrelated to anything with skin but if you're looking for a fun treat I highly recommend Kale Junkie's peanut butter pretzel sandwiches. They are super easy to make and perfect for kids or adults at a backyard BBQ. Peanut butter isn't acne friendly due to the fact that it can raise androgen levels leading to acne so I swapped the peanut butter for almond butter. Find the recipe HERE!
Okay kids, it's almost 8:30 p.m. and I'm 90 years old so it's my bedtime.
XOXO,
Kaila
